Tesla Accused of Consumer Fraud by Facebook Co-Founder and Musk Responds

Tesla’s in the spotlight again, and it’s not looking good.

Facebook cofounder Dustin Moskovitz is raising some serious concerns about the automaker, comparing it to the infamous Enron scandal. He’s accusing Tesla of what he calls “consumer fraud on a massive scale.”

Moskovitz’s main gripe? He says Tesla’s been playing fast and loose with its financial numbers, making it seem like it’s doing better than it actually is. According to him, they’re counting money from products that haven’t even been delivered yet—a big no-no.

But this isn’t the first time Tesla’s been under fire. There have been safety concerns about its self-driving features, and the company’s been struggling to hit its targets. Plus, there’s been some drama internally, with top execs leaving left and right.

Elon Musk fired back at Dustin Moskovitz’s accusations on X, formerly known as Twitter. Musk’s response? Ridiculing Moskovitz. He basically called him out for not being as smart as he thinks he is. Ouch!

But this isn’t the first time Moskovitz has taken shots at Musk. Last year, he even called for Musk to step down from all his roles, including CEO of Tesla.
