Stadler’s Hydrogen Train Shatters Records!

All aboard the record-breaking train—literally! Swiss train maker Stadler Rail has smashed a Guinness World Record with its hydrogen fuel-cell passenger train.

Picture this: the train chugged along for nearly two whole days, covering a whopping 1,741.7 miles non-stop. That’s like travelling from London to Warsaw without hitting the brakes!

But why all the fuss about hydrogen trains? Well, efforts to clean up our railways are in full swing. We’re talking electrifying networks and introducing battery-powered locomotives like the FLXDrive and Blues train.

Stadler Rail’s Flirt H2 is leading the charge. It’s designed to replace diesel trains on routes without electric power and can travel an impressive 286 miles on a single tank of hydrogen. Talk about eco-friendly travel!

And guess what? Stadler’s Flirt H2 just bagged another world record. It clocked up a jaw-dropping 1,741.7 miles on one tank of hydrogen at a test circuit in Colorado. That’s the longest distance ever travelled by a hydrogen-powered passenger train without stopping for fuel.

Dr. Ansgar Brockmeyer from Stadler couldn’t contain his excitement: “This world record establishes the ideal performance range of our hydrogen version of the best-selling Flirt Electric Multiple Unit, the Flirt H2.”

With confirmed orders rolling in from California and Italy, it looks like hydrogen trains are on track to revolutionise rail travel.
